On-Site Testing3D Mammogram

Clearer images, earlier detection.

We're proud to be the first health practice in Dover, NH, to offer the industry’s most innovative approach. 3D imaging technology captures multiple images of a woman’s breast tissue for earlier and more accurate detection of breast cancer and abnormalities.

What is 3D mammography?

This latest technology reveals a clearer, distinct image of a patient’s breast tissue than traditional 2D mammography.

It also reduces the chances of doctors seeing a false positive.

Early detection

While standard 2D mammography provides a single image, advanced 3D imaging technology captures multiple images of a woman’s breast tissue, so it's easier to detect small abnormalities sooner.

Consistency is key!

After finding a testing facility you trust (like Garrison!), go there every year to have results compared. This is the easiest way for your provider to accurately compare your results year over year.

What's important to know for your appointment?

The length of a 3D mammogram and the amount of compression is almost identical to a traditional 2D mammogram. Mammograms typically last approximately 20 minutes (You've waited in a coffee line longer than that!). Avoid wearing antiperspirant to your appointment, as it is detectable on the image and can alter results.

Breast cancer screenings save lives.

Garrison Women’s Health encourages women over the age of 40 to begin yearly, life-saving screenings. An astounding one in eight women will be diagnosed with breast cancer in her lifetime. According to the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation, mammography is the most effective screening tool used to identify abnormalities and breast cancer. Of note, 90% of women diagnosed with Stage One breast cancer survive beyond five years after diagnosis.
