Community Involvement
Dover Green Waves
Garrison Women’s Health Center has been the team sponsor for many years for the Dover, NH Green Waves, our local women’s soccer team!
Garrison Women’s Health has a strong commitment to helping non-profit causes in Dover, NH and the New Hampshire / Maine Seacoast community and abroad.
Over many years, our sponsorship has assisted many local efforts. Our most recent commitments have been to the following:
Avis Goodwin Clinic
Garrison’s first physician, Dr. Hatch, partnered with Avis Goodwin to start a pre-natal clinic for the Dover area.
Since 1969, Garrison Women’s Health providers have provided obstetric services and performed obstetrical deliveries for this non-profit organization which provides healthcare services to the Dover community.
Avis-Goodwin serves individuals who are uninsured, among others, and payment is based on ability to pay. www.avisgoodwinchc.org
NH BreastCare Coalition
The coalition works to eradicate breast cancer through advocacy and support of local breast cancer patients. The coalition uses 100% of funds donated.
Friday Casual Day donation to Breast Cancer
Garrison Women’s Health staff members make a donation which is to be used for breast cancer charities on the Fridays they choose to dress casually. This year, the fund sponsored a Garrison staff member who participated in Relay for Life.
Moms on the Run
Garrison helps sponsor this yearly Mother’s Day run/walk and our staff members volunteer to help out at the event. In 2009, the group donated proceeds to Dover Womenaid, a group providing financial assistance to individuals and families who need it most in our community. www.momsontherun.org
HUB Family Resource Center
This is a wonderful resource for Strafford County. They provide parent education programs and family support. They run many children’s events, programs and services. hubnews@hubfamilies.org
Thanksgiving
At Thanksgiving, Garrison Women’s Health participates in a food drive to benefit the community through the Strafford County Community Action or the WTSN/Hannaford Caring and Sharing Food drive.

Christmas Project
Garrison Women’s Health Center staff and physicians donate throughout the year to contributes gifts for for local children in December. We coordinate our efforts with Jewelry Creations in Dover, NH, who spearheads this program. After receiving the names of "our" children, we contact the parent for a wish list. Staff members do the shopping, wrapping, and delivery of the children's gifts and a food basket for the family.
Dover Fire and Rescue
We donate to benefit Dover’s Annual Children’s Fire Safety Festival. This fire and life safety program written, produced and performed by Dover Fire fighters is presented in Dover schools each May. The program is funded through donations only and all the firefighters involved donate their own time.

Annual Angels Walk for Wishes
We assist with sponsoring a four mile walking event yearly, this year on September 12th, 2009. All proceeds benefit the Make A Wish foundation, NH Chapter.
